IN HOCKLEY
Something a bit different...
The idea for the Queen of Hockley was to bring 3 decades of successes and failures to life in one venue in the heart of Nottingham. Great cocktails, craft beers, real ales, wines, food, music, service and design all under one roof in a welcoming and fun environment. Hopefully you’ll like what we do, but if you don’t, please let us know so we can improve.
We look forward to welcoming you soon!

About Our History
Where the story began
The Queen of Hockley has been a long time in the making, the journey starting in 1992 when the owner Matt Saunders co founded the Fat Cat chain of bars. This chain grew to 20 odd outlets over the next 20 years and included bluu, the super stylish group of 5 bars that incorporated an A la carte restaurant, bar and nightclub under one roof. The local bluu was in the Lace Market from 2001 until 2007 when it was sold to Marstons. Others in the small chain were in Hoxton Square in London, Manchester’s Northern Quarter, Liverpool and Glasgow.

The Queen of Bradgate
Matt then co formed a company that acquired the Larwood and Voce and the Wollaton in 2008 and stills owns them today. Next came the Queen of Bradgate in Leicester in 2014 and after 10 great years it seemed the right time to take this concept to Nottingham’s Hockley, a thriving part of town that is full of quirky, independent businesses and an ideal spot for the Queen of Hockley.
